Welcome to the very first piece of our Blessing Series, titled "Go-bok".
This artwork is a creative modern reinterpretation of the traditional Korean character for good fortune (福). The top part features a figure with arms wide open, embracing the vibrant energy of the universe with a bright smile. The middle section is adorned with colorful, smiling lips, symbolizing that true blessing and fortune begin with laughter and positive speech.
At the bottom, elements of nature, a traditional Korean roof, a book representing wisdom, and a brush are intricately woven into the character. May this artwork bring a high flow of fortune, wisdom, and endless reasons to smile into your house and life.

    복 시리즈의 첫 번째 걸작: '고복(鼓腹)'을 만나다

  • 작품명: 고복 (鼓腹) - 높은 복과 기쁨을 부르는 시각적 기도
  • 작가: 스튜디오 김경호 (Studio Kim Kyungho)
  • 재료: 종이 위에 펜, 잉크, 마커

    • 작품 소개 (Artist's Note)

[Blessing Series 04] Sunsan-bok (順産, 순산): Do You Remember the Day You Were Born?

    이미지
Of course you don't. Nobody does. But Studio Kim Kyungho's fourth work in the Blessing Series paints that day anyway, in full, one piece at a time — almost as if someone wanted the memory to exist somewhere, even if it was never yours to keep. A Character Built From Sound and Life The hanja drawn into this piece is 産 (san), "to give birth," "to be born." Like many Chinese characters, it's a phono-semantic compound: 产 (a simplified form of 彦) lends its sound, while 生, "to live," anchors its meaning. Together, they form exactly what the word still means today — the moment life comes into being. The fuller wish people actually exchange is sunsan (順産): an easy, safe delivery. Read It the Way It Was Meant to Be Read This painting isn't meant to be read top to bottom. Start, instead, in the center. There, against a ground scattered with pink, red-hearted blossoms, a loose yellow shape curls — a baby, still inside the flower bed of its mother'...

[Blessing Series 02] Ga-bok (家福): Weaving Harmony and Eternal Blessings into the Home

    이미지
Embracing "Ga-bok" (家福): The Sacred Art of Bringing Eternal Blessings into the Home In Korean tradition, a home is not merely a physical structure made of wood and stone; it is a living, breathing sanctuary where the energies of family, nature, and the universe intertwine. Following our exploration of Go-bok (the ancient invocation of blessing), we now open the doors to Ga-bok (家福)—which translates deeply to "The Ultimate Blessing of the Home and Family." Through this second masterpiece in the Blessing Series, Studio Kim Kyungho visualizes the invisible yet powerful warmth that protects a household. This artwork is a visual prayer, designed to resonate with peace, abundance, and generational harmony. The Philosophy of Ga-bok: More Than Prosperity For centuries, Koreans believed that true happiness begins within the family structure. Ga-bok does not simply mean material wealth; it encapsulates the profound state of Gane Naeoe Pyeong-an (peace inside and outside th...
